December 2023 – The lab celebrates the end of a successful first year!
December 2023 – The lab is awarded a Collaborative Research Grant from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation! We look forward to working with Michelle Hastings, Rachel Niederer, and Wren Michaels on RNA therapeutics for CF!
December 2023 – Alex travels to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to give a talk at the Emily’s Entourage Scientific Symposium.
December 2023 – The lab is awarded a research grant from Emily’s Entourage- our first one at UM! Press releases can be found here and here.
November 2023 – Alex travels to Phoenix, Arizona to chair a session and give a talk at the NACFC Annual Meeting.
November 2023 – Alaa Mwafy joins the lab as a ChemE graduate student co-advised by Greg Thurber!
September 2023 – Alex gives a talk at 3M as part of their seminar series.
September 2023 – Peyton officially joins the lab!
August 2023 – Alex and fellow Assistant Professor Aaron Morris are awarded a College of Engineering DEI Faculty Grant for the BME DEI Book Club!
August 2023 – Peyton Panovich joins the lab as a rotation student. Welcome, Peyton!

June 2023 – Alex travels to Big Sky, Montana to moderate a session at the annual Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Research Conference.
May 2023 – Karen Reynoso joins the group as a UROP student. Welcome, Karen!
May 2023 – Alex travels to Los Angeles, California for the ASGCT 2023 Annual Meeting to give an invited talk in the “Strategies to Deliver Genetic Therapies for Cystic Fibrosis” session.
May 2023 – Alex travels to Columbus, Ohio for the Ohio Valley CF Consortium Meeting to give a talk– her first one as a new PI!
March 2023 – Arianna Markey joins the group as our first Undergraduate Researcher. Welcome, Arianna!
